Acupuncture is an old yet thriving system of medicine that is well established across the world. It is apart of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) along with herbal medicine, nutrition, meditation, cupping and gua sha (scraping technique). It has inspired and kept generations healthy and prospering for many thousands of years. Acupuncture in America is relatively new and has been a small but a humble and grass roots effort since the 1970s. Back then a small minority were seeking out natural healing modalities, however in today’s time more and more people are seeking out the same. Today, we are concerned about the long term effects of chemicals in our bodies and environment; we want to increase quality of health for ourselves and our families; we are making choices that benefit long term health instead of short term relief.
Health is created daily with wise choices, a peaceful mind and mindful actions. Choosing acupuncture cultivates and strengthens our bodies and calms our mind. It allows for all the phenomena or processes in our body to come together for a coordinated and seamless execution of daily, minute to minute, breath to breath tasks. We have an internal rhythm and flow that responds to nature and our surroundings. Ancient practitioners knew that our bodies were closely linked to our environment and that our bodies were an instrument that the universe was playing its music on. Acupuncture is a medical art committed to understanding patterns and restoring health by correcting out of tune rhythms.

Acupuncture is an enduring medicine rooted in systemic observation of the human body and nature. Based on principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, our body is composed of 12 meridians or pathways that contain a network of blood vessels, nerves, lymph, organs, muscles, tendons and bones that work together to produce cohesiveness and one output. Our body in all its varying parts, comes together for one output and that output is YOU. The arrangement for all this complexity to come together and produce a seamless whole YOU is both incredible and awe-inspiring. Disease occurs when a part of yourself is in trouble and makes itself known through reminders such as pain, weakness, numbness, swellings, indentations, cold/hot sensations, itching, dislocations, abnormal tissue formations, etc. It is my job, as a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to use tools such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, to bring your body back into harmony, into oneness with yourself.
